MURRAY SAWCHUCK LIKES A GOOD CIGAR

Cigar Weekly interviews magician Murray Sawchuck for an article in which he discusses his love of Good Cigars, his career as a magician and his role in VH1's Celebracadabra. You can read the interview online, or in the current issue available where fine cigars are sold. When asked:  What are you enjoying as you work this interview? I’d hope you’d have a smoke while you did this. Murray responded: Actually, I am sitting in the same room as the photos were taken of me smoking the cigars in my suit after my show. I am smoking a Montecristo Court 44 X 5 ½  that was handmade in the Dominican Republic . A fan actually gave it to me after my show last night in the Stardust Theatre.

UK STREET MAGICIANS COME TO US TV

In 2005, the UK television Channel 4 aired an eight show series called Freaky featuring magicians Variety International and the Futon Critic report that the show has been picked up by Cable Network G4 and will begin airing episodes starting on Friday August 1st at 9PM as a part of its' "Duty Free Block." The show stars magicians David Penn, Nigel Mead, Mike Fitch and Phil-the mini magician and follows the cast as they shock people on the streets with magic. Multichannel.com describes the show by saying, Freaky is a fresh, funny and outrageous take on magic that is aimed at young, street-wise viewers who wouldn't be caught dead in the audience of a typical magician.  The "Kings of the Curious" are far from the typical, run-of-the-mill magicians. They are six talented young performers who ply their wares anywhere an unsuspecting audience can be found; on the streets, in a fish market, or in their own electronic performance spaces. In the video below from magician David Penn, several clips from the show are featured which will give you a bit of an idea as to what to expect from the show. Below that, you can watch the video intro for the show as well.
