The Examiner is talking about new photo book from Shawna Kelly titled Aviators in Early Hollywood which is filled with images of actors, stuntmen and aviators from the earliest days for film making. "One of magician and actor Harry Houdini’s biggest films was The Grim Game (1919). In it, Houdini’s character hangs by a rope between two airplanes – a daring stunt so dangerous it drew large crowds wherever the picture was shown."  Here is the only known surviving clip from that film which shows the scene it its' entirety. Enjoy!
