In spite of numerous emails suggesting that this was in the works, I've held off on reporting this until it was confirmed.  According to Robin Leach, John Katsilometes and and Las Vegas Channel 3 reporter Alicia Jacobs, Lance Burton has decided to end his run at the Monte Carlo instead of making cuts to the show as requested by property management.  Via her Twitter feed on Saturday, Jacobs said,   "Just confirmed from excellent source, & I'm VERY bummed 2 say, LANCE BURTON leaving Monte Carlo, very soon! Formal anncement on Mon! My source tells me that Monte Carlo asked Lance Burton 2 make budget cuts, he tld them he'd rather leave...so they let him go!My source tells me that Monte Carlo asked Lance Burton 2 make budget cuts, he tld them he'd rather leave...so they let him go!  In a follow-up post, Alicia said, "So many people have asked when Lance Burton's final show will be...Labor Day Wkd Really hope he lands somewhere asap! He deserves it!"   In his Strip Scribbles Column on Friday, Robin Leach indicated that  "delicate negotiations were involved in the exit by the beloved Las Vegas entertainer,"  but did not identify the parties involved.  Today he said, "Master magician Lance Burton is ending his current six-year contract at the Monte Carlo at the end of this summer -- five years earlier than planned. The sudden split has sent shock waves through the Strip entertainment and magic communities."  Kudos to our friends at iTricks who reported on the rumor last week HERE!  With Lance Burton gone, i assume we will be seeing less people at the Monte Carlo, many of them staying home and playing online slots.  It will be interesting to see where he lands!
