Details on the ceremony honoring the young magician slain last week during a robbery attempt were published in an article from the OC Register.

A packed room of more than 200 mourners fell silent as the four magicians walked to the front of the mortuary and stood next to the open casket of Adrian Ramos. One held up a magician's wand.

They had come at the family's request to pay tribute to Ramos – their friend and fellow magician whose talents had earned him an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and a spotlight at the renowned Hollywood Magic Castle by age 9.

They'd come to honor "El Magnifico" with a broken wand ceremony – a ritual performed to symbolize the passing of a fellow magician.

Ramos, 19, of Anaheim was gunned down April 28th in a robbery attempt, police said, while walking home after dark from a music class at Fullerton College.
