Each year, magicians start making appearances at libraries around the country in order to promote summer reading programs. Mac King leads the charge Mac King when he performs for Nevada students this Saturday morning at the North Las Vegas Library and then the Aliante Library. Here's the list of other magic appearances published in this weeks news:

PARIS HILTON TAKES IT OFF FOR MAGIC?

According to the National Ledger & In Touch Paris, Paris Hilton may have missed her calling as a magician's assistant.  Tina Sims reports,  "But instead of taking it all off for fame, Paris has now decided to tone it down and work Vegas and just take half off.  Sort of."  Earlier this month she escorted contestants from her upcoming MTV reality series, My New BFF, to Las Vegas’ Mirage Hotel’s villas for comedian Jeff Beacher’s Madhouse show after-party.  The magazine reports that as part of the final act, Paris jumped onstage to assist magician Nathan Burton with a classic illusion — sawing a starlet in half. “At first I was a little scared but it was a lot of fun,” Paris reveals to In Touch. Unfortunately, the heiress won’t be spilling secrets of the trade.

Comingsoon.net and Empire Movie News have posted new pictures from "Presto," the animated short film which will be screened just prior Pixar's latest release Wall-E. The gusy at ComingSoon.net have had a chance to see the short in it's entirety and say that it's one of Pixar's best. Dignity. Poise. Mystery. AMC CONJURES MAGIC WITH CARTER NOVEL

From Variety   Originally developed as a feature -- with Tom Cruise rumored to be attached -- "Carter Beats the Devil" eventually made its way to the smallscreen under exec producers John Baldecchi and Rich Silverman ("The Mexican"), who are also developing the miniseries "Berlin Mesa" at the channel. "Carter" is based upon the book by Ben David Gold David Gold, who's serving as a consultant. "The world of magic is always intriguing, and we felt this could be an incredible landscape you haven't seen on TV before," Wayne said.
