MAGICTALK.COM TO BE SILENCED
I first began the magic website that has evolved into the Magic Newswire in the mid-1990's. Not too long afterwards, a site dedicated to the open discussion of the art appeared. I was called MagicTalk.com and was owned and operated by Bryan Toder. Some years ago, Bryan closed MagicTalk.com to new posts, but it was revived again last year by "Big Daddy Cool," Mr. John Pyka. Today, it was announced that the site would again go silent after being sold to an un-named third party. Here is the complete text of the message:
It is with heavy heart that I inform everyone that Magictalk.com has been sold by the owner Bryan Toder. I don't know all of the details except that this site will soon cease to be. As we speak all of the content is being downloaded and archived. Where that content will end up is still in question.
Needless to say that this has been a fun project and I feel like we created a unique community. I for one, have made some great lifelong friends - again.
If I am able to create a new community I will be in contact. For now, it is time to move on. For those who were banned from the Cafe' there is still the Genii forum and a few other forums out there.
A special thank you to our moderators Jim, Mark, Margarette, Mick, Dodd, and Michael Kent. You guys were the heart and soul of this site. I appreciate it!
More importantly, a HUGE thanks to Ron Jaxon for all the work he put into Magictalk.com. If any one ever needs help setting up a discussion forum, he is the expert! We couldn't have done any of this without you. Love ya brother!
