STEVE WYRICK :: STRANGE MAGIC

Steve Wyrick's recent financial difficulties are no secret within the magic community these days. In addition to numerous articles appearing in the Las Vegas press discussing his bankruptcy filing and the $54 million in debt that was stated in the court documents. To make matters worse, new piece has just be published by Las Vegas Weekly which seems to add insult to injury by quoting every bad review of the show that has ever been published and even interviewing past girlfriends and partygoers who were invited to his home. (Thanks to Charlie Mortimer for passing this along!) “It’s that talking stuff that’s troublesome,” Weatherford wrote. “Wyrick never seems sure if he’s David Blaine, David Copperfield or David Carradine.” In a later review, Weatherford wrote, “Wyrick is more like an actor running through the cues. He could stay home and hire any magician to play himself.”
